Parables: Stories of Christ – The Compassionate Employer

In the final installment of our Parables series, we looked at the Parable of the Compassionate Employer. The first half of the parable shows a generous, persevering and compassionate vineyard owner hiring workers at different times of the day to work in his vineyard. The second half reveals how God’s gifts of forgiveness and eternal life are completely undeserved. Is God’s grace unfair? Absolutely. Getting what we deserve is a spiritual death sentence. But praise God that he does not give us what we deserve. He pursues us, finds us, and invites us into a relationship with Him.
