King
Gabriel told Mary that the baby born to her would sit on a throne, rule and reign over the house of Jacob, and that his kingdom would never end. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Despite our preference to view him as brother, confidant and friend, he is also the King with a voice like rushing waters, feet like bronze, and eyes like a blazing fire! He declared his kingship during his years of public ministry, but those who should have known him best missed him the most. Today’s message focuses on Jesus’ declaration then and now, “I am your king.”
