It almost seems like taboo to talk about money with followers of God and Jesus Christ. How ironic that a full 1/6 of the Gospels address the issue of finances! How amazing that 1/3 of Jesus’ parables deal with money and stewardship! The Apostle Paul advised Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:10 to watch out for people who love money. Our message this morning looks at this well-known verse and it’s larger scriptural context. Paul’s sage advice to this up-and-comer teaches us how important it is to love Jesus and use money for God’s glory.
The Lord is My Shepherd
What does it mean for the Lord to be our Shepherd? According to David in Psalm 23, it means that we shall never be in want of anything. We will be made to slow down, quiet down, and sit down. Our souls will be restored and whole, like they were designed to be from the beginning. We shall not fear evil or death – no matter what we’re facing. Many of us know the Psalm… Let’s make sure we know the Shepherd.
