James: Conflict and Grace

What causes fights and quarrels among us? James asks and answers this interesting question by pointing out some nasty little traits of our human nature. At our core, we’re selfish. We want things we don’t have and we’ll do whatever it takes to get what isn’t ours. We seek pleasure above everything, even above some of our most important relationships. We view people as competitors instead of friends, neighbors and family. Boy, do we need God’s grace! And that’s exactly what we get when we humble ourselves before Him. When we desire more of God in our lives, God gives us our desires.
